Boise Cascade Extends its Distribution Center in Birmingham

Building Materials Distribution (BMD) division of Boise Cascade has completed the purchase of a five-acre site in Birmingham, Alabama.

The land is next to the company’s existing rail-served location, which it purchased in 2019.

“Since its integration into the Boise Cascade nationwide network, the Birmingham branch has grown to meet the marketplace’s increasing demand for engineered wood, specialty building products, and commodities,” stated Brian Cullen, Southeast area manager. “With the expanded site, our customers can expect the highest level of service and availability as we partner with many of the industry’s top specialty building brands.”

“The Birmingham expansion will allow us to provide our customers with a much broader range of Boise Cascade engineered wood products,” said Jeff Strom, executive vice president of BMD. “The investment demonstrates our commitment to high-growth markets, which is consistent with our strategy.” We are thrilled to introduce numerous new goods and expand our offerings in both the general line and commodities.”

Strom says that the additional land will help with operating efficiencies.
