Sto Launches Rainscreen System for Thin Brick Masonry Veneer
Sto Corp. is expanding its ventilated rain-screen cladding system offering with StoVentec, a new product designed specifically for thin brick masonry veneer facades.
According to the manufacturer, this new venture into thin brick support is the result of an effort to provide greater design flexibility in its products.
“This is part of our ‘Creativity Begins. Sto Finishes’ initiative,” Larry Hilovsky, rainscreen director at Sto Corp stated.
“We’re offering the widest range of aesthetic options in combination with the most complete selection of fully engineered and tested building envelope systems. Designers know they can find the look they want without compromising the performance of the building enclosure.”
The StoVentec system as a whole includes sub-construction, continuous insulation, and an air and moisture barrier.
The product is currently undergoing full system testing, with an emphasis on the sheer bond strength of industry-standard thin brick masonry veneer with Sto’s masonry adhesive.
“Customers need to know that the products they’re using will work together seamlessly. By offering a complete, tested system, we’re making sure that they will,” Karine Galla, senior product manager at Sto added.
