Thrifty Building Supply Rebrands as Maximus Building Supply
Farrell Evans founded Thrifty Building Supply in Collierville nearly 40 years ago to meet the demand for building products for simple structures like sheds and barns.
Since its inception, the company has grown and evolved from a small building supply firm to one of the Mid-premier South’s buildings suppliers.
Richard Cooper, who took over as owner and president in January of this year, felt that the name Thrifty didn’t fully align with their product offerings and industry standing and that it was time to rebrand to Maximus Building Supply.
“We provide building materials to most of the quality homebuilders in the area. We carry top brand names like Marvin Windows and Windsor Windows and Doors, and we provide custom doors through our door shop. Our commitment to our clients has gone beyond supplying materials. We partner with them to ensure their projects run smoothly. No other supplier goes to the lengths we do through every phase of the construction process. Contractors know we have gone and will continue to go the distance for them, so they hit their project goals on time and within budget. That’s the kind of service we provide, and it’s what we are all about,” Cooper stated.
Working with Susan Ewing, owner and chief navigator at Ewing Marketing Partners, the company began a rebranding exploration.
“Richard knew that if he wanted to grow and be true to what the company represents and how they want to be perceived, it was time for a change. A change that will project the brand going forward, embodying the strength and loyalty they have exhibited for nearly four decades,” Ewing explained.
Maximus Building Supply is the new name for the company. The Latin word for “greatest” is Maximus.
“Maximus fits our company well because we believe we have the greatest team assembled — a team who provides the greatest service to our clients. And we’re not just talking about our sales team or our executive team, we mean everyone — our drivers, yard guys, warehouse workers, administrators, and coordinators. Our team is the greatest because we all have one thing in mind, servicing our clients’ every need. Not only do we have the greatest team, we know we have the greatest customers too,” Cooper added.
The Maximus Building Supply logo features a Cane Corso dog. The Cane Corso is a strong and loyal breed that is hardworking, powerful, and intelligent.
The Cane Corso, like the name Maximus, is there to serve because it enjoys having a job. Cooper stated that these characteristics fit the company’s personality and culture.
“While we may have a new name and a new logo to better represent the company moving forward, the foundations of building relationships and delivering value to our clients will always remain,” adds Cooper.
