Mans Lumber and Millwork Acquires Rochester’s Dillman & Upton
Trenton Michigan-based Mans Lumber and Millwork, a specialist in lumber, millwork, windows, decking, and kitchens and bathrooms, announced the acquisition of Dillman & Upton, a home improvement business, showroom, and lumberyard in Rochester.
The deal’s terms were not disclosed.
Dillman & Upton, founded in 1910, has supplied supplies to several building projects erected or remodeled in Oakland County.
Seven full-time designers work for the company, which specializes in timber, millwork, windows, decks, and kitchens and bathrooms, including refurbishment.
“At Mans Lumber and Millwork, we are continually improving on the construction and home improvement experience for our customers across southeast Michigan,” Mans Lumber and Millwork President Doug Mans said.
“Dillman & Upton share our focus on excellent service, and this partnership and location will provide our Oakland County customers with an improved range of services, products, and support.”
The acquisition of Dillman & Upton created the state’s largest family-owned provider of home improvement services and timber and building materials, with over 200 years of combined experience in the lumber and building materials business.

The Dillman & Upton team will continue to serve customers from their retail store, design showroom, and lumberyard, and will expand its services with the assistance of the Mans Lumber and Millwork team to strengthen capabilities and improve efficiencies.
Dillman & Upton can be found at 607 Woodward St. in Rochester.
Mans Lumber and Millwork has sites in Ann Arbor (2275 South Industrial Hwy.), Canton Township (47255 Michigan Ave.), and Trenton (47255 Michigan Ave). (3300 W. Jefferson). All of the locations also have home, kitchen, and bathroom showrooms.
