L&W Supply Acquires Builders Firstsource’s Gypsum Operations

Builders FirstSource, Inc. has agreed to sell the assets of its stand-alone Eastern U.S. Gypsum Distribution Operations to L&W Supply Corporation.

L&W Supply is a top specialty distributor of drywall, ceilings, steel framing, and other building materials for commercial and residential specialty contractors.

L&W Supply will acquire all of Eastern Gypsum Operations’ assets, assume the real estate leases for those operations, and hire nearly all of the employees at its locations.

L&W Supply will operate the acquired assets. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2021, subject to customary closing conditions.

The transaction’s sale price was not disclosed.

Eastern Gypsum Operations is made up of 21 facilities spread across the northeast and southeast of the United States.

L&W Supply will open 12 new distribution locations and acquire the gypsum operations assets and personnel from an additional nine shared Builders FirstSource locations, which will be relocated to an existing L&W Supply yard.

L&W Supply will provide Eastern Gypsum Operations’ employees and customers with a dependable partner in the space who can offer both job opportunities and high-quality service.

This transaction follows four successful acquisitions for L&W Supply in the last year. L&W Supply will now have 197 locations in 38 states as a result of the acquisition.
