Buettner Brothers Lumber Acquired by SBSI

Southeast Building Supply Interests (SBSI), a platform company of Building Industry Partners, a leading building industry-focused investment firm, has acquired Buettner Brothers Lumber Company.

SBSI now has 11 LBM locations in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, as well as truss manufacturing capability.

SBSI, led by industry veteran Roger Farmer, serves local, regional, and national builders and contractors, as well as do-it-yourself customers, in five Southeast states.

Buettner is SBSI’s first Alabama location and the third acquisition this summer, following Wallace Building Supply and Haywood Builders Supply.

“I consider Alabama home, and I could not be more excited to acquire our first business in the state. Under John’s [McPhillips] and Jimmy’s [Barnes] leadership Buettner has been a pillar of the Cullman community, and we look forward to continuing in that tradition,” SBSI President Roger Farmer stated.

SBSI is establishing a regional pro dealer organization that is committed to establishing leading human capital management practices, according to the company.
