Specialty Building Products to Acquire Amerhart

Specialty Building Products, LLC, a prominent North American distributor of speciality building products, announced the signing of a definitive agreement to purchase Amerhart, a leading regional distributor of specialty building materials.

The transaction’s financial specifics were not disclosed.

Amerhart, founded in 1940, is a third-generation, family-run building supplies wholesaler with 10 stores in Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, and Missouri.

This deal broadens SBP’s global reach and expands SBP’s product offering.

It also continues SBP’s strategy of investing in high-performing and complementary businesses that enable geographic and market segment expansion.

“Over multiple generations, Amerhart has provided their customers with the highest levels of service, enabling their growth to become a market-leader and one of North America’s finest specialty distribution businesses,” Specialty Building Products President and CEO Jeff McLendon stated.

The transaction is expected to occur in the first quarter of 2023, subject to customary closing conditions.

Following the acquisition, Amerhart will retain its present brand identity, geographic locations, management team, and team members as part of SBP, managed by CEO Mark Kasper and President/COO Chad Warpinski.
