Mead Lumber Now Owns Teague Lumber Company

By   /

Teague Lumber Company, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri has been purchased by Mead Lumber Company.

Teague Lumber has been a full-service lumber yard and building material supplier for residential and light commercial new construction in the Kansas City metro area since 2002.

Teague has four locations in the Kansas City area: the corporate office in Grandview, Missouri, which includes the millwork operation and a separate lumber yard, as well as lumber yards in Liberty, Missouri, and Bonner Springs, Kansas.

“Everyone at Teague Lumber is thrilled to be joining the Mead Lumber family,” said Don Margritier, president of Teague Lumber.

“We had several parties interested in purchasing us, but in the end, Mead Lumber’s values, culture, and track record in the communities they serve, as well as the fact that Mead Lumber is 100% employee-owned, made it the best decision for us.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Teague Lumber to the Mead Lumber family,” said Dave Anderson, president and CEO of Mead Lumber.

“Teague Lumber not only provides us with our first locations in Missouri, but also a fantastic opportunity to expand into the Kansas City market.” Teague Lumber is a great cultural fit for our company, and we look forward to combining our two companies’ strengths to continue to provide customers with a superior level of service.”

The company will continue to be known as Teague Lumber Company. Teague Lumber’s current management team, led by Ron Avery, Kansas City Market Manager, will continue to oversee day-to-day operations. All current employees will be retained and hired by Mead Lumber.
